Mokuton: Tsuchi Baindo Rank: C Rank Skill: Ninjutsu Effect: Literally Mokuton: Tsuchi Baindo means Wood: Earth Bind. As a Ninjutsu the technique utilizes chakra. Here the user forms the handsigns and collects whatever takes part of the landscape/ground and forms strips of cloth out of it. With Mokuton it manipulates grass or wood. Special: Rat, Boar, Dog, Ox, Tiger Drawback: One must have Wood Release to perform. Description: The Grass or Wood forms white strips looking much like bandages that rise from the ground and wrap tightly around the opponent. The strips are thick enough that they cannot be cut through with a kunai, and are wrapped tight enough to leave the enemy immobile. Limit: Wood Release
The sun was rising in the land of grass and Yosei was within his personal glade. The area of land he was given was only a few acres squared but he was still able to watch and act all over the land of grass thanks to the authority he had as an honorary Kusa shinobi. Though he did not wear or have his headband with him currently he instead had the typical loose fitting blue hooded t shirt and brown trousers. His bare feet were slightly damp from the morning dew but that wasn't a bother to him, more so was the dampness on his wings.
Giving his wings a few slaps to warm them up he took off into the glade looking for the open field in which he trained. It had been a while and just like everyone else he needed to improve on his skills. His hair was a minty green, he was happy but still a bit tired, the light glow which normally came from him was barely visible because of the cloudless sky and the two antennae he had were hidden within his hair.
With his wings and body sufficiently stretched and warmed up he could feel his chakra already glowing around his body, he knew he had the ability to control the forest but he needed to work more with that. He looked around the training area from the edge, it was a good 500 meters squared or near flat grassland, dotted around there were a few common bushes, nothing exciting about them no medicinal properties while around the outside of this area stood a few trees and larger bushes. Not a solid border but enough to distinguish the edge.
Swiftly, Yosei's hands would flow and begin to release the power of the land which flows through his body. his eyes began to close while he pictured what he wished the nature around him to do. The imagine in his head were for the grass below where he as hovering to rise up and wrap around his ankles, he didn't want to harm or train against any of his animal friends so he was the only target available. As he willed it, so it would happen. The chakra emanating from him began to penetrate the environment and flow down into the blades of grass beneath his feet and like the plant cell would photosynthesise sunlight, the cells would take in his chakra and begin to multiply rapidly.
The replication of every cell would act true to it's nature and cause the individual grass leaves to grow. It wasn't the fastest in the world but they would grow and make their way higher and up to his ankles. Opening his eyes when he felt first contact the grass suddenly 'leapt into action' now instead of sneaking it's way up it shot and began to wrap around his ankles tightly. The tightness would start to pull him down from the sky a little as if rooting and pinning him down to the ground but he would release the technique before it got to that part. Smiling he stretched and flexed his ankles happy with what was happening.
If he could make the forest defend itself he could leave more often and help more in different areas. He watched as the chakra he imbued the grass with to cause it to grow began to vanish, the loss of chakra meant that it would begin to shrink back down and look as if nothing had changed once more. Smiling to himself he looked up spotting the sun coming up and over the tree tops some more, the new light creating a silhouette that caught his attention though. The appearance of a person on one of the storm killed trees.
The fact that the tree died had upset him but it was done as a force of nature so it couldn't be held against the person but either way there was a person in his glade. Someone he wasn't sure about and didn't recognise. He would begin to flutter over towards them until he stood about 20 meters away, along the way his swarm of butterflies began to join him so around him and over all the different plants 5000 butterflies would rest ready for action if it was needed. "Hello, why are you in my glade?"

Initially, the Amekage had had no intentions of stopping, but the glade had attracted her attention. There was a specific skill she had been working on, but never been able to truly develop, which the glade was more or less perfect for completing. The glade was beautiful. Plants, flowers, bushes, trees. Scent of berry, water, wood. This glade was a soothing, calming and collecting place. A place where one could stop and gather ones thoughts. Swinging the enormous gourd filled with sand over her shoulder and placing it by a nearby tree, the girl looked around calmly. A huge tree had toppled over several days ago, and while the wood itself had been rotting away, the bunk itself remained intact. It looked like a perfect place to sit down and commune with the element of wood. Climbing onto the bunk, the girl folded her legs nicely, took a deep breath and closed her eyes. Folding her fingers into a seal, she was attempting to sense the wood upon which she was sitting. It was like sensing the breath of nature. The fallen tree she was sitting upon, she could feel how deep and far the roots were stretching into the ground. It was a living network. Within this deep darkness, the roots were gathering minerals, water, energy, chakra for the tree. Perhaps it was a ridiculous idea that then started to build within her mind, but if she was capable of connecting her own mokuton with this fallen tree’s roots, perhaps she would be capable of borrowing energy from the ground itself, replenishing her own strenght and stamina. Placing her palms onto the tree bunk, she slowly drifted deeper and deeper into her meditation. It was strange to her, but it was almost as if the tree was communicating with her of its misfortune, of the pain of having fallen over. The essence of the tree, the life force, she could feel it, and she was fairly certain she could pull some of it out. With the chakra she had accumulated within her palm, she pressed her hand onto the wood and sent her chakra down into the wood, probing, before latching hold onto the remaining strength of the dying tree. From there, it was a strange struggle that she had not anticipated. Latching onto the energy wasn’t difficult. Pulling the energy out however, was far more difficult than she had expected it to be. Recalling her chakra through the element, she was grasping small amounts of nutrients along with it. As the essence came to the surface of the wooden bunk, she faced the next problem with her theory. Rather than absorbing the energies easily, her palm simply became wet, as the nutrients simply lingered at the surface of the wooden bunk. To absorb it, she needed some way of pulling it directly into her body… Breathing deeply, she remained deep in trance. During her meditation, time had definitely passed, although she wasn’t aware of exactly how much. When communicating with the natural world, things usually took a lot more time than one would’ve imagined. Trees were slow, concise and stubborn. To commune with such creations, one often found themselves limited to their speed. As such the Amekage felt mightily sluggish, a little besides herself. Mind drifting, she was imagining the roots of the tree. If she could, instead of using simple chakra as the hook, create small roots of the mokuton element, she could leech the strength, rather than attempt to force it out…
In the back of her mind, she heard a voice calling out to her. Questioning why she was there. Strangely, she found herself incapable of easily answering. At this moment, she had caught herself in a transition phase. So deep in her own trance that she couldn’t simply pull herself out on a whim. As such, in reply to the voice, her lips split themselves, moving extremely slowly. If Yosei were capable of reading lips, he would be able to make out a strange ’Hello..?' The sand from the nearby gourd was slowly seeping onto the ground, moving towards her, prepared to defend her if it would have to.

The person sat before him in a daze, a trance like state barely able to mouth the word hello. Yosei raised his eye and landed on the floor sitting with legs crossed. Why are you in my glade? Yosei's chakra began to flow, he had no malicious intent as the person hadn't broken any of his laws. He didn't mind people walking through but when they stopped he couldn't help but be curious. He put his hands against the floor and his chakra would flow out of his hands and into the ground. Feeling a sudden poking against his right hand he lifted it off the floor to see a wooden cube pop out. Looking at it he would watch as it began to grow, what was initially a once inch cube quickly grew to be two inches, then three, four and jump to six before the cube shape changed. The branch began to elongate and while doing so under his other hand another cube formed.
The second cube followed the same pattern as the first but it would grow a lot quicker and after a couple of seconds it had elongated to the same length as the other branch. To his surprise that wasn't all as several other cubes began to grow out of the ground around him, they were in a circle around him equally spaced growing up and out until they were standing firm around him in 6 solid pillars, 6 inches thick and about 5 meters long. with a slow movement they would bend and work their way to the person sitting in a meditative stance.
The person before him hadn't done him any wrong nor any wrong to the glade so he wasn't going to attack them but he began to think to himself that it might be better to do this differently. He with drew his chakra and the wooden pillars would shrink back and hide into the ground. Once they were gone he would perform the same technique again but this time the 6 pillars would begin to form in a circle around the falling tree, equally spaced but not rising out more than 6 inches, ready to strike should he need the defence.
