Everything seemed to be going fine between the conversation and Aclime suppressing his stomach's rumbling. Is attention focused on the young lady next to him he was slowly learning more about her. "Oh, a research lab ran between multiple countries? That would be interesting." Suddenly, Tsukiko stopped talking and shot a vine from her forehead, which snagged a kunai that had been thrown their direction, at Tsukiko, to be accurate.
As she apologized, Aclime shook his head, as if it to dismiss it. "Not at all, please forgive me. I let my guard down. I'd have sensed lowlifes like these a long time ago if I'd been paying attention. Though, I have no idea what they'd want with us. Money maybe?"
Having paused the pace of his running, Aclime turned to face the two figured who emmereged from teh surrounding greenery. judging from the demeanor and dress of them, it appeared 2 bandits had launched an attack upon them. Aclime focused on them to sense their level of relative strength. While doing so, he gave them his attention while likewise berating them.
"I see you attacked her first instead of me. So then, are you cowardly assassins or highway robbers? If you intended to mug us, you should have assessed your threats first. Did you attack her because you thought she was weaker than me, or because she was your bigger threat? Either way, your priorities are pretty skewed. She's clearly a shinobi, so you're out of your league. But, if you return to whence you came, I'm sure she'd let you go. Right?"
He said this while stepping in front of her, then flashing a polite smile between her and the bandits. He appeared calm and innocent, maybe a bit like a pacifist. After all, two men attacked the female he was traveling with. They'd attempted to ambush them while brandishing weapons. And here was Aclime talking in a somewhat nervous and small tone between them while leaving his own weapon sheathed, as if he could settle this with words.
In reality, Aclime was quite upset, emotions inwardly flaring. The nerve of these bandits showing themselves like this, and while he was on his way to a rendezvous for a meal. Even though he didn't want to have to do any fighting right now, if these guys wished to, there would be some sort of conflict, which could get bloody. Under the guise of the conversation, Aclime had innocently, yet meticulously stepped to about 10 meters away from the men, close enough to wreck all sorts of havoc. If they became beligerant and took a step forward, he could end this in a flash.
The sword at his side was sheathed, but was set in his sash, bushido style. Tsukiko, being a shinobi might possibly detect the subtle killing intent within him, leaking very slighty, as if to deter and warn them. To Tsukiko, he'd say, "Would you like to deal with them, or should I put them to sleep?"
If she didn't seem intent to act upon, Aclime would not nod, then act. Leaving an afterimage, he'd body flicker foward, appearing not have moved until the afterimage faded moments later. He'd appear in front of one of the men suddenly in battojutsu stance. With lightning reflexes, he'd partially unsheath the katana and use the force to plunge the handle into the handle into his stomach, completely knocking the air out of him and forcing him to double over. The sword would be fully sheathed upon contact with bandit, so he'd move on to his next movement.
He'd grab him, activate his chaos for a brief moment and lift the man into s twirl from his feet. Doing so, if the other bandit attacked, he'd have to go through his partner, something he expected to cause hesitation in the second bandit. During the slight hesitation, the whirling motion would end as he smacked the first man into the second, right in the stomach. The force would knock both men from their feet and where Aclime would throw them a few meters away, into the trunk of a large tree. He wouldn't use enough force to kill them. Rather, it'd be just enough knock the wind out from them, with the impact to the tree being enough to knock both men out cold, thus putting them into what Aclime believed to be a deep sleep.
Aclime inspected his handwork, and inspect the aura of both men to be sure that their vitals hadn't fallen enough to kill them. It was over in but a few short seconds, and Aclime shut his chaos off before anyone had a chance to detect the change, then said, "I think they'll sleep for a while. So, shall we be off then Tsukiko?"
